Claude1864: It wasnt worth the price paid to pre pay. I had to reinstall windows today and i also had to re install No mans sky. I lost everything. The planets , the system i discovered all gone. I was placed on another planet in another system. WTH? Is rthere no way to get those discoveriies back?
jasondude7116: (Watch out! Someone's venting) - Jesus F-ing Christ! I'm really starting to get tired of you whining brats. Guess what, I don't have those problems because I take time to learn things and be smart rather than cry like a stuck pig to get things. Some adult has to have told you at some time that you earn what you get right? The new method to get things is to cry and bitch and have someone else get/steal it for you. That not working out so well for you? Maybe you could be calmer, more polite, and work for something. Just a crazy idea. ...Man, I feel like I came from a different planet. (Maybe that's why I enjoy this game...hmmm??) I usually don't post anything, but I get tired of filtering through whaaaaaaambulance posts to get to decent stuff. I love people, I really do, it's just the dumb ones....unnerving.
Edit: Thanks to the other posters for trying to help, I lose patience sometimes. They need the help for God's sake.
No, I am with you here, Jason. Find where the game saves in a folder called DefaultUser... (hint: YOUR BOOT DRIVE:/Users/YOUR USER NAME/AppData/Roaming/HelloGames/NMS/DefaultUser ... zip up that folder and send it to dropbox, your email, whatever as you go. (I personally copy it and then rename the copy as I go - I've done this since the game came out).
Regardless, back up your ENTIRE drive to a back up drive weekly - it is worth it - drives aren't that expensive these days and there is a free good backup program called "Karen's Replicator" (who's author was awesome to provide us with this FREE program! RIP.) that'll just back up the changes to your drive so they'll last longer.
Otherwise, if you don't take these measures, don't get that upset. I am speaking from experience as one of my other computers runs Linux Mint and for some reason decided not to work yesterday - I never thought the items on the computer were THAT important (I use the computer to Skype family) so just reinstalled the OS and Skype and am A OKAY.
