I have just finished Mysteries of Westgate and I liked it.
I had a lv1 rogue, rest dual wielding ranger with high strengh.
I joined the rats, because I dicovered them before I left the harbor.

After finishing the game some questions remain.
I did understand that the city is controlled by a group of vampires who breed human slaves.
but:
-What is the source of the curse and why did I have it?
-At the end I find the banshee and her guard. They were priests who tried to stop the vampires in the past,
but they failed. Why are they so important now? It is good to save somebody from being undead, but they seemed to be of big importance for the vampires and I don´t know why.
-Whats the role of the devil? (She is accompanied by erynnies and not succubi so I guess its a devil and not a demon). I meet her only at the very beginning and at the very end.
I still do not understand the concept of fiends owning the soul of mortals.

I finished the solo arena.
But I had no chance defeating the dukes (second group battle)
A skilled ranger, a fighter, a rogue and a cleric (thats us) had no chance against (at least, I don´t remember everything) 3 casters, a rogue and an extreme strong fighter. They can kill you before you get close to those casters.

All other quests and fights were rather easy compared to this.

The best thing was the dark setting. A town full of criminals, vampires, slavers and other bastards and a group consisting of a poor soul who doesn´t know how he got into all of this, a rogue who cares only about gold, a depressive fighter and a fanatic cleric. Finally something different than the hero who is destenied to save the world.
Been a very long time since I played it, but I believe there's a mask or idol that cursed you. As for the rest of the story, i think the intent was for Ossian to do a sequel but, as these things go, it never materialized. As it happened, MoW was almost tanked itself, so we were lucky to even see that.
