When I run NWN, I'm getting an error message and the game crashes. I've read that it might be caused by a specific DirectX version, but I'm not too sure. Anyone got an idea how to fix this? If you need my specs, I'll add them below.
The attachment is a screenshot of the error.

On newer Windows systems you have to install this to have all older components of DirectX9:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109

Missing those files could be the cause of the crash.

It's also advised not to install the game into the Program Files folder (on a German system "Programme"). During the installation choose a custom folder other than "Programme" if this is suggested, e.g. C:\GOG.com\

Thank you for your reply. I downloaded the files, installed them and rebooted my PC, but it didn't help with the error.
I also installed the game in a different folder in the first place.

Stupid me, it was obvious from the screenshot of your error message ;-)

There are some things you could try, like:

Running the game as Administrator: Go to the game's folder and right-click nwmain.exe => Ausführen als ..

Try compatibility mode for Windows XP:
Right-click nwmain.exe => Eigenschaften => Registerkarte Kompatibilität

Rename nwmain.exe to something like nwn1.exe. This actually helps in some cases.

Compatibility mode worked, thanks a lot. I feel stupid for not doing that in the first place but I just assumed GoG makes it so that games run on new systems^^
