Hi there,

the people who downloaded the NWN2 Complete OST probably noticed, that the OSTs of "Mask of the Betrayer" and "Storm of Zehir" are a right mess. There are no tags, no proper names, no numbering, no nothing. The files are sorted alphabetically with no concept of a real soundtrack and everything is just chaos. It's madness! And I'm one of those guys who must sort their music library with great care or I go nuts.

I therefore ventured out into the internet, searched for some tracklists and taged everything as it should be. <span class="podkreslenie">I've uploaded two files</span> (packed in one zip) that were automatically made with Mp3tag and contain no viruses or anything ill meaning.

The first file (MotB file overview.html) is a simple html-document listening all 59 the files in the aforementioned alphabetical order with the correct trackname and tracknumber in case you want to tag the files on your own.

The second one (MotB import tags.txt) is a simple txt-file you can use to import the tags via Mp3tag. Just use this format string: - %artist% - %title% - %track% - %year% - %genre%
ATTENTION:
1. Sort the files alphabetically in Mp3tag.
2. Before you import the tags you must delete/exclude the file "Neverwinter Nights 2 Mask of the Betrayer soundtrack - ashenwoodcombatstingerend.mp3". It's a four second long end of something that can't be used. If you don't delete/exclude it and import the tags, everything after that one is shifted for one entry and therefore wrong.

And one additional thing:
The files

Neverwinter Nights 2 Mask of the Betrayer soundtrack - lobby.mp3
Neverwinter Nights 2 Mask of the Betrayer soundtrack - imaskari.mp3
Neverwinter Nights 2 Mask of the Betrayer soundtrack - mulsantirgate.mp3
Neverwinter Nights 2 Mask of the Betrayer soundtrack - mulsantir.mp3
Neverwinter Nights 2 Mask of the Betrayer soundtrack - sloop.mp3
Neverwinter Nights 2 Mask of the Betrayer soundtrack - outskirtsamb.mp3
Neverwinter Nights 2 Mask of the Betrayer soundtrack - ashenwood.mp3
Neverwinter Nights 2 Mask of the Betrayer soundtrack - burninggrove.mp3
Neverwinter Nights 2 Mask of the Betrayer soundtrack - imilvale.mp3
Neverwinter Nights 2 Mask of the Betrayer soundtrack - lakeshore.mp3
Neverwinter Nights 2 Mask of the Betrayer soundtrack - gudbughach.mp3
Neverwinter Nights 2 Mask of the Betrayer soundtrack - kurgannis.mp3
Neverwinter Nights 2 Mask of the Betrayer soundtrack - thaymount.mp3
Neverwinter Nights 2 Mask of the Betrayer soundtrack - academy.mp3

are too long and contain, in some cases, up to three mute minutes at the end. If you want to cut the mute parts you can of course use whatever software you want, though I would recommend MP3Split. I've nothing to do with it but it's an awesome freeware tool that does not recode the files and therefore avoids further quality loss.

Happy taggin' and I'll go see if I can find a tracklist for "Storm of Zehir". :D

The tracks can easily be found in a playable format in the program files directory after installation. I extracted them all years ago in this manner (most software will play them correctly, despite their unusual file format), and the OC/MotB soundtracks do not have that long silence at the end of the file. The SoZ music, however, does have this silence and you'll need to find something to edit it out.

This method also works for the NWN1 soundtracks (there are a couple that aren't included in NWN2)

Uh, yeah...

1. Please go to x:\Neverwinter Nights 2 Complete\Music_X1 and open any of those bmu files that I've listed. Take mus_mulsantirgate.bmu for example. The track is 3:04, the music ends at 1:02.

2. Please reread my post because you did literally understand not one single thing of what I wrote.
That's odd, I could have sworn that none of the MotB tracks had those long silences at the end. My apologies, I thought maybe that was an issue with the OST download that wasn't present in the files in the actual install directory.
Thank you very much for the trouble PsychoWedge, can't wait for the Storm of Zehir names!!

Someone could try to message for this one ? I heard they are reuploading , tagging Baldur's Gate OST's etc. Maybe make same thing for them :)
The Baldur's Gate soundtracks at least have the correct titles and tagging and all that. Same with all of the D&D game soundtracks I have gotten from GOG, except this one, Storm of Zehir, and somewhat for Temple of Elemental Evil (where everything is by title and not in game order).

If anything, I would adore to see the treatment with the Storm of Zehir soundtrack - this is the main and really only reason that that one is not in my collection.
I take a shot at Storm of Zehir soundtrack.

I presume there isn't an official track list or even an official soundtrack because it looks like directly extracted sound files from the game itself.

Like for Mask of the betrayer there are 3 tracks (entercombat1 to 3) that are couple of seconds long and can be trashed, otherwise the rest of files must be trimmed of extra blank at the end by mp3splt.

As for the track list this what I've came up (from googling and the file name themselves).

1/ remove Neverwinter Nights 2 Storm of Zehir soundtrack - entercombat*

2/ With mp3tag sort the files alphabeticaly and import the tags with the following format string:
%track% - %artist% - %year% - %genre% - %title%

Oh man, thank you so much! Been looking for something like this ever since I downloaded these yesterday.

Though I used mp3cut.net to cut the files, was very fast and easy :)
no prob ^^
I can't seem to get it working in MP3TAG. I put the format string like so:

- %artist% - %title% - %track% - %year% - %genre%

It gives me nothing in the preview and parse errors.
Worked, I took off the extra -

so ended up with: %artist% - %title% - %track% - %year% - %genre%
Thank you SO much for this! Just downloaded the ST this morning and found myself wanting to tear my hair out. You saved me from having to buy a wig.
Thank you so much! I thought I'd have to change tags individually, but you saved me the hassle.
For some reason, I can't access the file. Keeps saying I got an adblocker even after I disabled it.
