Hey all, hopefully someone has a solution to this problem. I'm trying to play NWN1, but it launches in 800x600 and I can't change that resolution. When I go to video options, screen resolution, the options aren't there at all. The box pops up but the inside is just black, I tried just selecting things at random but there's nothing there (I thought maybe it was just a video glitch). I tried changing the resolution in the nwn.ini but that didn't fix it either. Anyone know what might be going on? My video drivers are up to date, and I'm running this on a windows 8.1 laptop. The game runs fine otherwise, I just don't want to run it in this resolution.

UPDATE: I've found I can run the configuration if I launch the application from inside it's folder, which brings up the pre game launcher and launch configuration from there. Here I can see the text, but the drop down for resolution change is still blank. -_-

Try running the nwconfig.exe utility inside the game folder. You may also want to be careful what resolution you choose, otherwise the UI may become unreadable -- it doesn't scale.
Ok I think this is the window I need for sure, but everything inside of it is blank. When I click the right button, it launches another similar window but there's all missing text. I see options I can select but I have no idea what I'm selecting. I've tried running this in Windows XP compatibility mode and down scaling my resolution but neither of these have worked to get the text to show up. It seems to be the same issue as whatever's going on inside the game itself.
I have no idea what's going on with the missing text, and I have no experience with Windows 8, but have you ensured that the game is not installed to the protected Program Files folder structure? Does that even exist in Windows 8?

Yeah I think it's probably some really strange visual glitch because I have a 4k screen.
