My question is are the pre built characters worth going with and is there a list of them anywhere so I can read what play style they would be good for ?

Thanks.

Your best resource would be the NWN2 online character builder. There are lots of character builds posted there, although there's no way to automatically import them into NWN2 so you'll need to do that manually. You can create your own builds on the site and experiment to make sure what you want to do is legal. If you want to try it out a build before playing it, you can use Vordan's Hero Creator module to experiment with it and see how it performs.

NWN2 comes with prebuilt level 1 and level 18 characters. Unfortunately, there is no way to designate a specific progression after you've selected the prebuilt character, and the game's automatic "suggestions" on level-up tend to be terrible. If you have a specific character type or class in mind, I can give you a general game-plan on how to develop it. Character building in NWN (1 and 2) isn't actually very hard, there's just a lot of options to sift through.

Thanks for all that.
