I have had this game installed for quite some time, and I have played this game in the past (roughly 6 months ago), so it has worked before. But, now every time I try to load up the game the splash arts that come up (the Atari splash arts and whatnot) begin to stutter a lot. They will play for a very short time and then the video will freeze and the sound will repeat like a broken record (eventually I will advance through the splash arts but the stuttering persists). This is exactly what happens as well in the main menu, and it also happens in game. (Although the game is still "playable" it is very difficult to make progress with such stuttering).

The weird part is that if I use ctrl+alt+delete and access task manager while the splash arts are stuttering, task manager will come up, however, it says that the application (Neverwinter Nights) isn't even running and I can't access the game to close it or anything (the Neverwinter Nights Icon does not appear on the toolbar and task manager doesn't show the application running). (Even though the music and sound will then play smoothly with no stuttering even though I cannot see the game).

Can someone help me out with this? I don't really now how to fix it, and I have read some other forums about it but nothing so far seems to work.

I am using Windows 7 64 bit
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3840QM 2.80 GHz
NVIDIA Quadro K2000M

Sounds like maybe your video drivers have updated in the meanwhile... try reverting them if that is the case?
