I prefer to keep my party in complete puppet mode because the AI is so terrible. But it seems that fairly often my party members start controlling themselves again (stupidly, of course). When I check the AI on/off button it says AI is 'mixed' or on. I turn it off but it returns to 'mixed' or on eventually.

Am I doing something that's causing the AI to revive or is it a bug?
Did you try installing tonyK AI?
Well, no but...I don't want the AI on at all. Would the AI mod help me with that?

IIRC it has more robust ability to turn it off and have it STAY off.
You can even turn it off partially... it segments the various AI mechanics and lets you choose which to turn off and which to turn on. For example you can turn off spell casting entirely while leaving the melee AI on... once you try it you might actually want to use the AI again.

Taltamir, the ability you describe is currently in the standard game, without installing TonyK's AI. As I understand it, portions of TonyK's AI were incorporated officially in one of the expansions.
Thanks for the responses guys. I've found two causes of my problem, I think; one is that whenever a new party member joins the group, their AI is set to 'on' and that changes the AI settings to 'mixed'.

The other is that I think I might be hitting the AI button by mistake occasionally when I go to hit the 'rest' button.

That said I think I will give Tony's AI a shot after all.

Thanks again!
