So gamestop has a good 'deal' going right now, not going to link it, but it's considerably cheaper, and you get both games with all expansions, apparently.

But, on the other hand, you're supporting Gamestop (ewww) and not supporting GOG (oh noes! =[ ) and you're not getting DRM-free stuff and the extra goodies that come with the GOG version...

I'm heavily leaning towards GOG still (mainly because I love them, and I already have NWN1 from here).... thinking I'll keep the collection together, support GOG. You never know, the Gamestop one could become unavailable in the future or have crappy DRM (I have no clue if it does or not) - but not sure I trust Gamestop.

edit: I just bought it from here.

I had some games from stardock before they sold to gamestop, so I made the mistake of assuming that they would stick with stardock levels of DRM - basically at activation and patching and that was it... Big mistake. I wound up essentially throwing away all my software that was locked into Gamestop, they use encrypted binaries with a session unlock... bad stuff.
Personally I would go for supporting GoG, regardless of your feelings on DRM. With enough money in hand, GoG can continue to try bringing titles back from extinction as they did with NWN2 (until GoG's release, I believe it was impossible to get your hands on Mysteries of Westgate, legally or not)
Yup, I got it from GOG. There's so many reasons too, and while I am a 'cheapassgamer', I don't feel cheaping out for this deal is worth the cause (GOGs bring back the old-school, support the indie, support DRM-free). Short-term benefit, long-term harm.
gamestops' deal is very good indeed, if 7 bucks are that important. Let's face it, with 7 bucks you barely buy some junk food. I would not throw the money away and am financially poor but the offer doesn't do anything for me as I already had NWN 1 and all expansions, so I was only after NWN2 complete.

But the drm ? Yeah, big but.

My simple equation is that with drm I more than save enough time and headache to earn 15 bucks. I really like how easy is to buy from GOG, download a couple of files and install them. No wasted time, no 75 patches to download, no headaches.

And the bonus OST collection? Ah! Killer bonus as I love soundtracks.

Last time I bought a DRM game was Dragons Age from Amazon. The stupid thing didn't work so after 2 hours of swearing I just resold the damn thing. No regrets as the NWN series is truly all the rpg I will ever need.
It's a good deal, but if I was to buy NWN Complete from anywhere other than GOG.com, it'd be GamersGate, because those versions are DRM-free to my knowledge, while Impulse requires a client (believe).

Actually, Mysteries of Westgate is also included in the big bundles available on Gamestop and GamersGate: D&D Neverwinter Nights Complete (which includes both games), and in D&D Ultimate Pack (which includes the Master Collection and both games). But until this GOG release, you couldn't get Mysteries of Westgate without buying games other than NWN2.

Practically speaking what you say is true today but wasn't always. I bought MoW as a stand alone on Direct2Drive, and now that that has merged with Gamefly (and subsequently they decided to no longer provide NWN2 as a download) I can still very oddly download Mysteries of Westgate (but not the base/original game or expansions). Its totally useless and very odd, but I can download it just fine still.

Right, it would have been more accurate for me to say that "from the time of the Atari/Hasbro dispute that got the games removed from all the stores until now, it wasn't available for new purchases outside of bundles of other games."

Both games are well worth it, as is having them without DRM.

NWN 2 Complete on GG still has Securom in it, at least according to product pages.

I haven't done business with gamestop for over a decade. I had a bunch of stuff on impulse when they sold it to gamestop.

Their customer treatment has not made me happy. I definitely advice against buying from them.
While I haven't bought a ton of games from Gamestop (both dragon ages for $10, plugs into origin), the ones I have bought, physical or digital, I have had zero issues with.

That being said, Steam, GoG are really the only places I buy games digitally. I do buy from Amazon quite a bit, but those all plug into steam.

Though the situation is already over, GoG is the way to go if you can help it. I don't have tons of money, but I can handle giving my $15 bucks to GoG for the whole NWN2 package.

Happy gaming!
Go for the GOG version. I just installed my GOG version, and no hassles with putting in game keys.

Good choice... and as such, should be rewarded. Do you still don't have NWN1 - if not, reply and I'll gift you it :)
