I bought this game for myself, then gifted the game to my girlfriend. We went to try to LAN together and it wont let me join the server she created because the "CD Key is already active on that server." Okay if I bought the game twice why is it telling me that its the same CD Key. I registered the CD Key after requesting it from the site like I'm supposed to so why can't we play the game that I've been waiting 3 days to play
Did you and your girlfriend order personal CD-keys as described here:

http://www.gog.com/en/support/neverwinter_nights_diamond_edition/online_play_in_neverwinter_nights_diamond

I know it kind of sucks a little...but as it is now this procedure has to be gone through if you want to play online....or multiplayer....
Yes. An email was sent to her and me with respective instructions. I followed them and we were able to join servers fine but we cannot join each other. Seems kind of backwards considering I don't care about online play, I want to link to someone right next to me.
are you sure that you each have the required ports open?

Also, and I know this sounds kinda dumb, but are you sure that you have one of you click new internet/LAN game and the other click Join LAN game?

Also, another dumb-ish question, but I must ask, are you sure that you are both on the exact same network?
I uninstalled and reinstalled NWN, as well as re-performing the instructions in the email with my CD Key. The game decided to work now. I'm not really sure what the difference was but it was probably just a result of my frustration.

I apologize for the needless post and thank you for your helpful posts. At the very least, seeing someone attempt to help made me feel better even if it didn't produce any results.

Thank you again~ <3
The only thing I can think if is that you and your girlfriend somehow are using the same CD-key. Check the file NWNCDKEY.INI (it is a textfile) and compare the CD-keys...

Also I am hoping you're not trying to go multiplayer with any of the "premium modules" as that wont work.

Or something has seriously f***ed up....
