As subject either with the first and the second episode i got the same error.

Just to clarify, the intro screen for the first episode is the image with the two characters sit into a cinema.

Now some spec:

- Intel Core I3-380M
- nVidia GeForce GT540M
- 4GB RAM DDR3
- Windows 7 Home Edition 64Bit

Actual tries:
- Run in compatible mode (winxpSP3)
- Run as Admin
- Both the two tries together

I have the same problem.
For those that are lazy to search in the other thread:

By trials and errors I have found a solution that works.
Using an editor open the file "gameoptions.xml" in folder "c:\Users\<your_user_name>\Documents\JoWooD\Neighbours From Hell 1".

In line 5 change:
backbuffer="0"
to:
backbuffer="1"

Save file and start game.
Same method works also for Neighbours From Hell 2.

Thanks to Tiziano! :)

And If you want to play windowed mode in the same file replace (screen fullscreen="true") with (screen fullscreen="false") and you're done :)

Save file and start game.
Same method works also for Neighbours From Hell 2.

Tested on my notebook Acer Aspire 5750G:
-Intel i7-2670QM
-Nvidia GT540M
-8GB RAM DDR3
-Windows 7 x64 - Ultimate

Works like a charm!!!
