I purchased and downloaded Mutant Mudds just yesterday. I figured I'd take a wack at it this morning before class. Well...it literally will NOT run.

Thus, I can't even tell if I got burned on buying this game because...well...I can't even play the damn thing.

Hi, sorry to hear the game is giving you trouble.

Do you have all your drivers updated i.e. sound and graphics?

Are you running the game as Admin?

Have you turned off UAC (User Account Control)?

Yes. All of my other games from GOG are running just fine. Mutant Mudds is the only game giving me problems.
I just uninstalled Mutant Mudds. To Hell with it. I got burned outta $10. My loss.

Would you be willing to write an email to our Support department with your DxDiag attached ? Really odd that the game is giving you a hard time since it's not that demanding of a game graphically and processor-wise.

Yes. I'll send GOG a PDF of it.

I just solved the problem last night. Seems my current laptop has DirectX10 and 11, but not DX9. When I purchased Retro City Rampage (damn ggod game, might I add), it prompted me to install DX9. Wahla! Mutant Mudds now runs fine.

Irony: plenty of DX9 games run well on DX10 and DX11, but some don't. Ya might wanna put that bug in peoples' ears.
I got the same problem (dx11 installed). The only way to fix this is to install another dx version? I would very much like to play this game :)

Different versions of Direct X are not compatible, you should think of them as sequels rather than updates.

If a game requires a specific version of Direct X, you'll need to have that version installed.
thats what upsets me: if i install dx 9 in order to make this game work, other programmes might not work anymore. so i would have to switch dx versions constantly. is that correct?

No. Different versions of Direct X can be installed at the same time, they do not replace each other.

okay, thank you for your help. much appreciated!
Ugh! I am having the same problem as the OP.

Did anyone get the game working after installing the DirectX 9c files?

I did everything the email from tech support suggested (update this and that... the usual stuff) and the game continues to crash on startup *derpface*

I give up, this game has no love for window 7....or my potato of a netbook :P
