One method would be the bugged obelisk chest. You can repeatedly open it to get the money for opening it.

Alternatively, farm the circus for pyramids and sell the loot you get for them from the Dragon Sand oasis camp.

Obelisk chest was bugged, the bug was fixed with one of official patches (so no more infinite gold).

I never thought about using circus in that way. I thought that all the prizes were 1-time thing. During my recent playthrough though, I had tons and tons of gold on me just from playing. It seems to be result of nerfed training costs, because unpatched MM6's training costed a lot of gold.

If they fixed it, then they fixed it. I've almost lost track of which bugs are in which games, and which ones got patched where.

Afaik, there isn't any 1-time cap.

The circus hands out one pyramid, or whatever the other two items were, per victory, and it is repeatable until you run out of money or inventory space. Even really high stats are no guarantee of a win on any given play, though.

The oasis camp will trade for however many of the circus items you can acquire.

Either way, I don't remember having any gold problems either. Of course, my characters probably didn't hit level 100, so rising training costs wouldn't have been an issue.
