Just finished the game, thinking about doing a second round. 1st round was Knight/Thief/Cleric/Sorc, light side. Will do dark side, but I am thinking of adding a challenge.

I read one post where someone soloed Monk. Any other ideas?
All Knights will be a good challange, but is possible. Get the hit points, endurance, and might, but no magic. Just a way to go

hofmannfamily: was Knight/Thief/Cleric/Sorc,
I am thinking of adding a challenge.
Play only with hybrids: No Knight, Cleric, Sorc, Thief (Disarm) nor Druid (Alchemy). You took the easier path.

Right now I am trying Monk Solo.....wish me luck!
in MM7 I'm on the second run of Cleric / Cleric / Sorc / Sorc.
in MM8 I've done with Cleric / Necromancer pair. Dark Elf solo gave up in Plane of the Earth.

I think Casters(especially water/air master-able) can live easier than Knights for certain spells.
Hi! I ask you sorry for my English, because I know is really baaaad!

I started play MM6 with only one character. Usually I play this game with a well-balanced party: a warrior, an archer, a sorcerer and a cleric. It’s fun, but the experience taken from the monster is distributed through the whole party so the levelling is slow. I had a decent ability in the game so I started a game with the idea to play with only one guy. I put all the points on the first man, which was a druid. This class can manage both elemental and clerical magic. For first thing I killed my other companions in the sea. Then, with hp restored, I started with the NWC dungeon with the trick of the fly scroll (see The various walktrough). I collected about 40.000 gold pieces. Rich and young, I bought the most powerful items I could find. now, after about 10 hours of game, i think, I am at level 85 with a powerful hero!!

I'm working my way through MM8 solo with a necromancer for the second time.

It's rough at first. You spend most of your time shooting a bow while running away.

When I got to Ravenshore, I spent most of my time traveling to the different cities half-drunk on Arcomage money. I also completed the black potion quests to boost my stats.

My luckiest break was finding a helm that added HP and SP regen.

I used my horseshoes to get Fireball and eventually master Dark Magic. Once I got Armageddon, the game opened up. Nuking a few zones gives a massive amount of XP.

Souldrinker is also a very nice spell once you have the SP to use it a few times.

For anyone else doing this one, I recommend a ring or piece of armor with disarm skill on it and another one with ID skill on it. And, of course, GMing water magic is vital to cutting travel times.

So far the easiest quest has to be getting the Nightshade Amulet from the clerics. If you have a quick finger you can avoid combat all together. The hardest was getting the lich jars from the lab. Being heavily invested in Dark Magic made the undead dragons rough. I wound up putting my money in the bank and grabbing the jars before I died.
