If I only buy one game, which on should I buy?
I just want to play the most advanced game in the series. No one seems to like MM9, so I am not bothered with that.
MM7 and MM8 seems to be sharing the same engine, so it's up to the contents of the game.

Both very good, not much to choose between them.....personally i like MM7 better, just feels like it has more depth to the story....gameplay wise they are twins though...imho

MM6 also uses the engine, and it's the game that I found the most enjoyable. However if you want to choose only between these two, then I'd recommend MM7, purely on my own experience. It seemed better while playing.
In MM7 you create the whole party yourself, in MM8 you create only one character and add 3 of the NPCs to the party.
In MM8 you have a total of five, so you actually add four. However, since the sale is on, why not just buy both? You'll see which one you like better, most likely enjoying each of these.
I've already owned have too many RPGs, and I don't have time to play them all. :P

Totally understandable. I'm in the same situation. If you like the MM universe a lot, MM7 (at least) is worth it. So is MM8. If you're not that passionate about MM games, then you can probably skip them. MM6 is the best of the three, imho.

I'd say, get both. But if you only want one. Get Blood and Honor, it's just got more of everything.
Once again I find myself the only one who isn't advocating 7. They're both great, but I personally liked the music and the visuals from 8 much better, and the cut-scenes IMO are epic. It's also easier and shorter, but I don't think that that makes it a less enjoyable experience.

Your mileage may vary, naturally.
I only played 8. It was good. MM7 I think has fewer bugs, worse graphics, better story. The ability to choose good and evil is neat -- as well as the ability to steal items.

Both have Arcomage, which is probably where you'll spend half of your game play time. :D
If you can only get one then MM7, however with this sale going on right now you should really get both! You won't be disappointed!
Thanks all. I got both games, but I don't know when will I have time to play them. I am playing Fallout New Vegas at the moment. :P

Do you really think, that MM7 and MM8 are equal? I know it's matter of taste, but i can not understand how people can compare these two games. MM8 has very strange character creation - why you can choose between vampires, minotaurs and knights? Where are classes and races? How dragons get into your team? This things ruined specific MM climat. I think MM9 is way better than 8. Really noone looks at this like me?

I strongly recommended MM7 or MM6.

I don't want to be offensive, it's just my curious.
