So, looking for info about Might and Magic II: Gates to Another World, I read there is a bug in the 1.00 version of the game that makes hirelings disappear if you transfer your characters form Might and Magic I (a supposed error on the transfer routine or something like that) thus making the game unwinnable. Version 1.01 of the game corrected this. My question is: what version of the game is included in Limited Edition Six-pack of Might and Magic? Is it safe to transfer your characters? I haven't started the game yet, but I did transfer my characters before knowing about this,

If anyone has any information about this, it would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

The gog.com collection includes MM2 v1.01. Attached is a screenshot of the game's "About Book Two" screen.

So how does this bug work excactly? Since you transfer your characters from MM1 before picking up any hirelings in MM2, I mean?

BTW, both abandonware versions I have (downloaded and played before the game was available on GOG) are also version 1.01.
I imported my MM1 characters and had no trouble completing MM2, using the GOG version. So I believe meakins is correct.
