I've started the first Might & Magic game and love it! The only thing that sometimes bugs me is the absence of any music or sounds. It's not a problem or anything but the game is so mysterious that it feels weird with no sound. I originally put Gog's M^M 6 soundtrack on repeat while playing, which worked really well, but I slowly expanded to some other stuff, like some classical music that fit and even some rock (Some of Kate Bush's music workes really well). Any of you know of any music you think "fits" the game? I'd be interested in finding some new stuff to listen to while playing.
I love Kate Bush!

I haven't played M&M 1 so I don't know what the tone of the game is like but here's my few suggestions:

Fallout Soundtrack (free legal download here http://auralnetwork.com/releases just scroll to the bottom)
Baldur's Gate or Baldur's Gate II soundtrack
Thanks I'll check that out!
(If you know about Kate Bush, "An Architect's Dream" works pretty well for the first town and songs like "Lily" and "The Fog" fit the mysterious moods.)
Conan the Barbarian soundtrack.

This playlist on Grooveshark has the music from the M&M 4-5, plus HoMM 1-2. It's a little bit of a change up from the M&M6 soundtrack, but still within the series and its spinoff.
