I just encounetered the strangest problem in MM6. I have had 2 items which are supposed to "regenerate spell points over time" and another item that "regenerates hit points over time". For some reason I don't understand they stopped regenerating hit points and spell points altogether. Is there an in-game time limit as to how long these items regenerate or is this a new bug I have discovered? I have checked numerous forums and websites and I cannot find out any information about this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The effect should work indefinitely. Are you sure the items aren't simply broken?
Easy way to test it is (make sure you don't have spells like fly or water walk active) - click rest and keep resting for 5 minutes - each time you do that you should see hp/mp go up a little (well, or wait for an hour and it will go a lot more).

If it really is a bug, I don't really have an idea what caused it or how to fix it. Are you running the game with admin rights (or does the game ask for them when you run it)? I heard that running the game without the rights can cause all sorts of weird glitches.

You could post a save game here and I could see whether it runs properly on my machine or not.

Hi. Thank you for your feedback. I checked my file properties on MM6.exe and the run program as an administrator box is checked. These items were not broken because they were not colored red on the inventory screen after I unequipped them. Also when I tried to rest in 5 minute and 1 hour increments, the MP bar did not increase. Very strange. It looks like I may have to start over because no enchanted items seem to work.

Thanks for your help. Here is my saved game file called save000.jpg. I couldn't upload the file until I changed it to an image format. Just change the file extension back to save000.mm6. Thanks again.

Tested the health and mana regen and indeed they do not work (I even managed to break the armor and repair it to see if it helps, but nothing).

I cannot really help you fixing it, maybe somebody else can. I can only imagine the save got somehow corrupted and maybe starting a new game would "fix" it (besides the obvious loss of all progress).

Also I'm using the GrayFace patch for the game - maybe the vanilla game has a bug like this and that fixes it? (Obviously not for already created saves though).

Well, thanks for trying. I have been in this game for 6 game months. It just makes me wonder if there is indeed a in-game time limit on how long the enchantments work. I will see if I can find new items with the same enchantments in other shops and test them. If not, then maybe I corrupted my own saves by installing the GrayFace patch.
I loaded the save on my vanilla. Regeneration doesn't work either. Really weird.

See if it happens with new items you find/buy.
I have never seem so problems with M&M games until I came here.I don't use the Graypatch so maybe that's innocently causing problems..P.S all my games are on CD.
Non-stacking regeneration is intended, and it works like this in MM 6 and MM 7 (not sure about MM 8 as it had regen skill and some changes due to only 1 promotion).

There are more stats which don't stack or don't work properly when rolled on specific types of items (in example, recovery time only works from weapons afair).

It is intended, just like obsidian accessories in World of Xeen.

Except that this is not a question of stacking. The regenration isn't done at all.

My bad, I have misread original post.

Then I agree, It might have to do something with the patch. I remember I had various awkward bugs by patching the game in wrong order of fan and official patches. Thankfully, GOG version has exactly right combination of patches (at least for my liking).
