Im in a dungeon and I have some small dragons who make fire damage, I try spell: Protecction against Elements, I pick FIRE, but I check each PJ sheet and the value for resist Fire is still 0? how come?
My mage is level 10.

Dragon's fire make me more or less similar damage with or without spell.

Protection from elements and elemental resistance are two different things.

Resistance is the numerical value you see on the character's sheet. It can be modified by class, race, items, game objects... etc.
Protection is what you get from the spell. It causes one of the 4 gems on the main screen to change colour.

Now I'm not 100% sure how it works, but if I'm not mistaken, protection offers a % damage reduction and is applied first. Resistance offers a flat rate damage reduction and is applied second. I could be wrong here though

Level 10 is not high enough to offer significant reduction. But it should become more noticeable once you reach higher levels.

Wow, thanks a lot, that was it, thanks!
Oh, one more thing. Besides making the gems glow, you can also see Protection (as well as other spells), if you click on the hourglass icon that tells you the day and time. It also gives you the numerical value.
