Hey. So I recently got a new PC with Windows 10 and installed MM7. Everything seems to run fine except it randomly freezes at points in the game. It could be within 5-10 minutes of playing or 30 minutes.

I own the retail version so I've installed it and run it from the disk and I've also got the Grayface patch running.

Has anyone else run into this problem?
I had a couple crashes in MM7 in some very specific places (one was on the tutorial island when you drop down to ground near the small waterfall), but mostly it ran fine on Windows 10.

I know that when I tried the patch that increases resolution, the game crashed a lot more, but with only Grayface, besides what I mentioned, no crashes.

I was also playing with HW acceleration (which I recommend as it makes the game look better) and have no idea if it crashes more in SW mode. You need to set the setup.exe to 16bit color mode to enable it though.

Edit: Just noticed you said you have the retail version (you mean the original CDs with the game?). GOG games are generally made compatible with newer windows, so try buying it here? I'm sure they'd refund you if you still had problems then.

Works fine for me in Win10x64, too (GOG version). I also use the resolution patch--a tip is that it is not reliable @ anything above 1280x960. It'll work for awhile and then crash--ditto at 1920x1200, etc. I find the resolution patch makes quite the difference, even at only 1280x960.
