Once in awhile I see people commenting on creating the entire party from scratch instead of using the premade characters. Something that has to do with a save game editor. I cant seem to find any info on how to do this. Is this some sort of download or some files I have to mod myself?

There are several savegame editors around (in example here: www.portailsmm.com/comm/downloads.html , but check savegame editors by antivirus just in case wherever you find them).

You just start game, save, then exit and launch savegame editor and change what you want.

Thanks! Trying out MM8che
MM8che is a good and safe editor. Just make sure you backup your savegames just in case :)
I used MM8che. I actually cleared the game a few weeks ago by having my own party. i went Ranger, Knight, Cleric, Minotaur, and Necromancer. the fact you have to find your own heroes in this game is kind of annoying but thankfully editors saved me from that.

Are you forced to take anyone with you to beat the game? Meaning should I leave the 5th slot for hires?

at certain points of the game you will need to have a person in your party for a particular quest but i think you only need to do that twice. fill up your party by all means but when you receive that certain quest and you get that person clear a slot out. it doesn't matter who you take out but the way i did it was take the person i needed the least for the shortest amount of time. they will lose out on a little xp but it's nothing you can't make up with promotion quests really.

np enjoy the game it's probably my favorite in the series even though it gets a lot of flak because how OP dragons are and it's not that good of a story and the like.
