Hello. I am trying to play Might and Magic 1. I have made characters but there is not prompt to add them to the party. The old Apple version was ctrl and then the "letter" . This doesn't work and there is no prompt to add them to the party. Has anyone figured out what the command is to add them to the party?
Thanks

As far as I know, the procedure should be the same for both the Apple and the DOS version of the game: to add a character to your party you must hold down CONTROL and press the KEY LETTER next to the character's name on the list of available characters (the symbol @ will appear next to the character's name, marking him/her as a member of your party). Note that this cannot be done from the main menu, but only after selecting a town (press 1 to go to Sorpigal).

I'm having this same issue... hope we can find a solution soon.
same issue; game is unplayable; GOG just totally screwed me out of my money.
I'll just throw in that you can use daily builds of ScummVM (it's not yet in the official releases) to play Might and Magic 1 as well, and we'd always welcome more people testing it. It too uses Ctrl + letter to select members for the roster. Additionally, it also offers an enhanced mode using the Xeen user interface, that lets you select roster members using the mouse.
I'm just playing all the MMs on GOG and haven't had any issues like that I just finished the second one and both the first and second have the same type of controls to manage the party. What OS do you use and what type of keyboard, could that be the problem?
