Hobbun: I had seen that HoMM 3 HD Mod already mentioned in another thread. But what makes me hesitant about it is at the bottom of the description by the "Compatibility" It says "HoMM3 HD is not compatible with The Restoration of Erathia, Armageddon's Blade, Heroes Chronicles!"
It's compatible with Complete. What they mean is it's incompatible if you have Restoration of Erathia only or Restoration of Erathia with Armageddon's Blade only.

Ok, thank you. I will make sure to download that patch then.

Edit: That was strange, when trying to download the patch, it originally defaulted to HoMM 3 (not Complete), but I don't even have that on my computer. I had to browse for the Complete folder under my GOG games.

It installed fine, but the other thing that is strange is even though my HoMM 3: Complete is through GOG games, playing the new HoMM 3: HD is through it's own launcher, separate from GOG. So my HoMM 3: Complete from GOG is not being played, if that makes sense. I can still launch HoMM 3: Complete through GOG, but it isn't the HD version.

If I play the HD version, I won't gain any achievements via GOG, but that's alright.

I'm so glad I found this thread :-) I had played all HOMAM games years ago (never finished the first one though, I intend to try it again, I was quite a noob back then) and now I finally got to playing Might & Magic games as well and I was thinking a lot about the order I want to play them. Chronological or release date?

I read your arguments, ZFR, and they are very sound and solid and I guess they can really be applied on any series (so my other dilema with Asimov's Foundation is also solved now ;-) ).
