I used the sale this weekend as an excuse to pull the Might and Magic games off the backlog and start with World of Xeen. For an old game it is pretty easy to get into minus a few things that I suspect are in the manual. The biggest thing that I didn't see an option for was rebinding controls.

Rebinding the arrow keys to WASD would be so awesome. I was wondering if there was any way to do it since there isn't a seperate setup file.

There is no way to change controls in the game itself.

However, Xeen runs thru the DosBox emulator which does allow key "remapping" (I think that is the term). I am not sure how to do that, but I'm sure others will.

Never tried it myself, but check this DOSBox wiki page for info on remapping:

http://www.dosbox.com/wiki/Mapper

Note: The game has actions bound to at least some of the WASD keys, for example A is the shortcut for (A)ttack, and S is the shortcut for (S)hoot arrows. You will need to bind those to other keys if you want to be able to use them once you've set WASD for movement.

Given that there are these shortcut keys available, many players prefer to play the game entirely with the keyboard and not use the mouse at all. In that case, moving around with the arrow keys might not be as annoying. Could be worth a try if remapping sounds like too much trouble.
As Waltorious mentioned, I'm one of those who played the game almost entirely with the keyboard. Every once in a while I found something that was a little more convenient to do with the mouse, but 99% of the time I was able to use the keyboard alone.

Ok I've been playing in keyboard only and it is fine.
