I am thinking of maybe trying any of the MM games available here on GOG. But from what I heard, MM6 to MM8 all use free walk style (or whatever the correct term is) as opposed to tile-based movement employed by previous MM series. Since I get simulator/motion sickness easily with first-person perspective games, I am thinking of trying demos first before getting any of them. But I cannot seem to find demos for MM6 to MM8. I understand these are old games, and demos may no longer be available, but I am wondering if someone still has it or can point me to a website with demos somewhere.

Thanks in advance.
You'll find plenty of playthroughs on www.youtube.com
Yes I just learned there were probably no demos for them to begin with. So I guess I'll have to check youtube for the gameplay. Thanks.

The original games (well, MM6 for sure and I think the others too) do not feature mouselook, so it controls more like the classic FPS games like Doom where you turn with keyboard keys. This might mean it doesn't induce motion sickness as easily as a mouselook game where the camera can be moving around really fast... or maybe not, I don't know. Moving your party around is also relatively slow compared to most first-person games.

There's a fan patch to add mouselook, however.
Careful with Might and Magic VIII: Day of the Destroyer. There is an odd bug, never fixed, where if you click on the edge of the screen your view will center on the point you click. I seem to remember the original readme stating that this game now had mouselook, and I wonder if this represents the attempt. You can use it to your benefit, but it does get inconvenient sometimes.

In Might and Magic IX, you did have mouselook. Edit: and it worked, may I add.

Thanks for the responses. I think I decide to get MM8 after all. Seeing the gameplay through youtube, it does not seem like I will get simulator/motion sickness (like I had when trying to play Arx Fatalis), so here's hoping I will enjoy the game if I get it.
