Just a heads up for anyone who has the game. Starting the game in DX12 mode with the GOG Overlay causes the game to crash on start.

Update:
GOG released a Galaxy 2.0 update the fixes the crashing with just the GOG overlay enabled.

But having the Rivatuner overlay and GOG overlay enabled in DX12 still causes the game to crash.
Rivatuner is included in some overclocking GPU programs such as MSI Afterburner..
The solution is the disable either the Rivatuner overlay or the GOG overlay, or play in DX11

Appreciate it
Thank you so much.
Just what I was looking for, thanks!
You are a hero. I spent way too much time trying to track this down yesterday before i gave up.
Thanks a lot!!!!
Same problem here. Thanks for the temporary solution.
The solution is naturally to disable overlay.
I also have this problem. Hopefully there is a patch to fix this soon.

You can fix it by disabling the overlay.
You disable the overlay Galaxy 2.0 by clicking the settings button next to the play button on top of the game page, then go to "manual installation", then click "configure", and finally you uncheck the "Overlay" checkbox in the "Features" section
Same Problem here, thought my DX12 was corrupted. New Version installed, but no changes.
Your tip was the solution of this.
Thanks a lot! =)

Sorry I should have put a little more effort into my post. I should have said I was able to fix it by using your fix in your og post and that I was more registering my name to the list so the devs knows this isn't a 1 off issue for a few people. Id rather not have to disable the overlay for all games just because its broken in this one.

Disabling the overlay the way I described only disables it for this specific game, but you're right Ideally they should fix the game so it works with the overlay
Same here, took me about 24 hours to find what was the element which make the game crash in DX12 : Galaxy overlay, making the game under DX12 crash from the start no matter what I could do (uninstalling geforce experience, turning ANSEL off, canceling antivirus, turning everything else in the background off...)
Directly from the exe, the game runs fine, and from galaxy without overlay, fine too.
New version of gog Galaxy fixes the overly in Metro and Other games using DX12 according to the patch notes.
