When the game was released I already had this problem, that the installation via galaxy failed. Even when I wanted to use the repair and verify option, this also failed, after downloading the gamefiles a second time. I had to use a trick I don't remember exactly. The problem here is, that you cannot just download it via Browser and install it then. Because stupid beta client galaxy does not recognize installed games without redownloading and reinstalling them the first time I start the client again.
Now the first update and the same problem again...

EDIT: I remember that I had to make an exception for the virus scanner at the first time... that's how it worked. But nothing changed, so what to do now?

We just released an update for the game today, can you try running a "Verify & Repair" check on it?

If you continue having these issues with the game via Galaxy, please file a bug report on the Galaxy tracker https://mantis.gog.com/

Thanks for the quick reply, I am afraid I already tried the "Verify and Repair" check twice, no positive result :(

May I ask that you file a bug report, please? Your GOG credentials will work on the Mantis link I gave you earlier :)

Look at you saving this damsel in distress ^^ Thanks pal. Now I tried something out in the meantime. I downloaded the new offline Installer and shut down galaxy. Then installed Maize and when I turned galaxy on, it did not unnecessarily update an already up to date version of the game as so many times before.... WAIT...as I am dropping these lines, it started an update process and seconds later it says "Installation failure: connection problems" . Then my Wifi got reseted, what never happened before. Okay another update try... and again failure. Funny thing, I played the game for half an hour before all this... am I really the only person experiencing this trouble with Maize and the galaxy Client???

I am not sure but I certainly haven't heard anything from Support about something like this...

You might also attach your logs. They are usually located in C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs :) Just put them all in a zip file and attach the zip file to your ticket :)

Did it :)
I turned off the automated updates in galaxy and now I could get in running. But of course a new problem: Since this afternoon, I don't have the mouse cursor anymore, which makes navigation in the menu almost impossible.
EDIT: Now the navigation is impossible

And I have to say, I like the game's visuals and atmosphere, but how can I put this? -> I never had a game that ugly, that needed so much performance. Optimization must be an alien concept to the developers...

I have over 230 games in my library and none of them has ever made me a fraction of the trouble, I experience with this game.

The support helped me first, Genoan in person. Very good help.

The reason for the relocating files / connection problem was, that my folder for temporary install files was also on my external hard disk, where I store backups. Putting this folder to my main hard disk, solved the problem.

The problem I had with the mouse cursor was due to my 4K screen or the fact, that I need magnification of my desktop elements, which includes icons and cursors. I set it to the custom values of 180% and 200%, which causes problems. Setting it to the preset 150% works fine, although galaxy now reads very tiny :/

Thanks for your help.
