Hello all, I just wanted to ask: is this game playable windowed? I sent a mail to GOG but they have yet to answer. I really wish they'd put this information on the title pages. Any help is appreciated.

You could try adding -w to the target command line. Sometimes it works with games. To do so just right click the games shortcut and go to properties. Then on the Target line put -w at the end of the games location with a space between whats already there and the -w.
Well, I don't have the game yet but whether or not I get it is based on whether or not I can play it windowed.

I'm asking before I spend the money, so I don't waste my money on it and find myself unable to play the game because it's fullscreen only.

If you have the game, could you try it? It would be so nice if you would!
Unfortunatly I don't own the game myself. Hopefully someone will come along that owns the game and try the -w switch to see if it works.
Well, thanks anyway! Hopefully someone will come along. :)
It does not work for me.

Vorax
Ah, that's a shame. Thank you for replying!
Ahh that is a shame, I would hazard a guess and say its not possible then if the game doesn't have the ability to do so already and a quick google search brings up no results at all on the matter.
Unfortunately Lionheart doesn't have a windowed mode. I already searched for it a few years ago but found nothing and as the game wasn't very well received there are no mods to remedy this.

It isn't a bad game nonetheless, the lack of windowed mode shouldn't deter you from buying it ;)
Thanks, I appreciate the decisive answer. But unfortunately I can't play fullscreen-only games. This one will have to be given a miss.

Thanks again.
This topic is a little old but I thought I'd post a little on how to enable windowed mode. Sorry this is advanced stuff. As far as I can tell its hard coded to go full screen though perhaps there is a setting I'm missing somewhere.

0. Copy Lionheart.exe to Lionheart_Windowed.exe
1. Edit Lionheart_Windowed.exe with a hex editor.
(Google for XVI32 if you dont have one. Its free and does the job)
a. Goto Hex address 0x0318780 or 3245952 in decimal (Shortcut usually Ctrl+G )
b. Change the value from 01 to 00
c. Save
2. Set your desktop resolution to 16 bit mode. 24 bit mode might work but not sure.
3. Double click Lionheart_Windowed.exe to run in windowed mode
a. None of the intro videos show up so press space 3 times to skip them.
b. If it fails after the intro videos then your desktop resolution is not correctly set.

I've not played through the whole game so things may break like cutscenes due to this change.
Kinda necro, but a working solution ;) Bought the game with the Interplay sale, and ofc was not amused by the fullscreen only option, so gave it a try with dxwnd. This little app forces games into windowed mode. And have to say, it works flawlessly.

In the archive you will find all you need to use it with Lionheart, just delete the standard entry, and add the executable from where you installed it. You can even expand the window to fullscreen, though on 16:9 it'll be ugly. Enjoy :)

Perfect!

Using DxWnd

Just double-click on DxWnd.exe to run the graphical interface (a tiny white empty window), then locate the executable for the program you'd like to hook and drag & drop this file into the DxWnd window. A complex dialog will appear, but in many cases the built-in defaults are sufficient.
Can anyone please share a config for a windowed mode?
