Hello,

As a backer of the game (in 2014), I got the Steam version of the game with the bonus DLC "Treasures of the Past".
I played about 94 hours on the Steam version...

Yesterday I bought the GOG version, and I would like to continue my game on GOG (in part for the cloud saves, and also, because I prefer the DRM free version), without re-starting from zero.

But I can't use my Steam save with GOG, because the game tells me I don't have the DLC on GOG!

I wrote to Warhorse support, but they only told me : "Sorry but the DLC was only meant as a pre-order bonus"

I don't know what to do!

Um, maybe finish your first playthrough on Steam and later on go for a second one on GOG?

I also was a backer and have a similar playtime like you on my steam account, i bought the GOG version to support the devs but also to start a new playthrough, i believe if you buy the dlc on GOG you will be able to continue the game here, i don't have the DLC an i get the same message in the game menu.

What happens to your Steam save game when you untick the DLC to set it to "Not installed"? If it loads without the DLC maybe you could make a new save without the need for the DLC.

I don't have the game on either platform and think it will make the save "unloadable" in Steam, too, but would try it.

That would be an idea, but I can't find the DLC "Treasures of the Past" on GOG, and even if... I think it's 5 bucks, just for a batch of 5 treasure maps... and I don't condone this kind of DLC! Just got it on Steam because I was a backer, but would have not bought it!

Anyway, I decided to start a new game from scratch on GOG version!

I just tried that, but as I feared, if I untick the DLC in Steam, I can't load my saves anymore, even on Steam!

You know the DLC Treasures of The Past isntallation file is only 5 MBs. So there is that. I have put 100 hours into Steam version that I pre-ordered about a week before release (not really a pre-order) and my saves made with version 1.2.5 still work with GOG version 1.2.5G.

Yes, I know the DLC is very small file, but I didn't pre-order the game on GOG, so I don't have the DLC here, and thus, my saves on Steam version (where I have the DLC) are not compatible with GOG (where I don't have the DLC) !

Howerver, since then, I decided to start a new game on GOG.
