Hello everyone! Many questions ask about what our plans for the game are in Early Access! This will be a post with the current roadmap, and I'll be editing it often to keep it up to date! At the moment I'm posting a draft without any specific timelines, so if you're interested be sure to revisit this post from time to time!

Note about releases
0.9.0 doesn't mean the game is 90% complete. After 0.9.0 we'll release 0.10.0. Naming scheme is 0.X.YA - X is major numerical version based on the milestone in our (currently) internal documents, Y is a numerical feature update, A is a letter signifing a bugfix release. We might also do small hotfixes without a version upgrade from time to time. We plan to exit Early Access (1.0) around Q2 2021, and we plan do continue doing FREE updates afterwards.

Upcoming scheduled releases
* 0.9.1 - May 25 - balancing and early game
* 0.9.2 - June 15 - !

Roadmap
This is a draft of features in the pipeline as we need to adapt to the feedback and our manpower after Early Access. All the following features are planned to be implemnted before 1.0.

Upcoming planned features
* plot screens between moons
* shields for enemies and player (lategame)
* seed of the day, challenge of the week

Regular planned updates
* more branches and special levels
* more enemy types
* more traits, more distinct traits
* more item variety
* more environmental interaction
* more challenges
* performance improvements
* UI improvements

Long term planned features
* boss fights at the end of every episode
* simple cutscenes between episodes
* interconnected objectives (early game choices with late game consequences)
* modular weapons (with assembly)
* Dante station instead of Beyond
* unique enemies and unique weapons
* Trial modes - challenges that modify the whole game world (Ao100, Arena)
* Seeds of the day, Challenge of the day, online leaderboards
* full procedural destruction (hopefully)
* full modding support
* full console support (and fake console mode)

"Steam Workshop integration will come closer to 1.0"
Eeeh no then. I don't like the idea Steam having exclusive mods or whatever.

Are you suggesting we should make the game worse for a group of players, to make the game adhere to you opinions?

You can use Workshop downloader provided the developer allows it. It's not a problem for GoG users.

Unique monsters and objectives and damage types will be badass. I think the early melee demons should try to ambush the player more. Earlier I was playing and not really paying attention and one was right around the corner and swiped me. It'd be cool if there was more of that.

Yes, according to the Low Magic Age devs, "Enable anonymous game servers to download workshop items" is the magic button to press. I was never able to download any mods myself even after they made that change, but I didn't exactly try very hard, so I'll believe them anyway. ChaosForge: please do that from the very start. It's still a problem for gog users, but not as big a deal. Gog users can still upload to other mod sites if desired.

Oh! We're quite a bit off from the modding part (we want to stabilize the API first), but is it a setting in Steam Workshop? If so, It'll be there day 1.

Yes, that's right. I think that the HBS Shadowrun games use some other settings, because they work with the browser downloader plugins. The above setting apparently only works with specific downloader sites, which is why it doesn't work for me. I can't say what HBS did differently, though.

Ok, we'll investigate this closer to modding release, if need be I can contact them directly.
Just dropping in to say I'll most likely get this game at some point and am looking forward to whatever else y'all have in store for us!

* boss fights at the end of every episode
Please make the boss fights an option, or fights we can do later.
With bosses, character builds are no longer for the game, but for the boss fights: the game become the boss fights...
The journey becomes its ends: what is before the end becomes a preparation to the journey...

Do you know where you are? You know this isn't steam, right? Why would anyone here be happy about steam mods?
Can't an universal modloader be done, so that GOG users can enjoy mods too?
