they're in game achievements used for unlocks.

I've never thought achievements would be worth any extra $$ personally. I took the discount and am enjoying the game so far.
It's not a matter of "Achievements being worth extra $$."

Rather, it's a matter of this game lacking feature parity on GOG, since it has Steam Achievements but the dev removed Galaxy Achievements from the GOG version for no legitimate reason.

And "in-game achievements" are not the same thing as the removed Galaxy Achievements. There is no reason why it shouldn't have both.

Good thing the posts in this thread helped to stop me from getting ripped off by buying this game.

Although this thread is still confusing because the OP has the dev\'s inaccurate post that this game will have Galaxy Achievements marked as the solution, even though the dev reneged on their promise about and so that has retroactively become untrue misinformation.

I agree it's confusing why the dev would say "there will be", "there is", then "we removed them."

That makes no sense.

Nobody on Steam is complaining about how the game has DRM there so they got ripped off because GOG doesn't (same price & all).

I'd say the bigger issue with the game & the dev's is they say "Iron Harvest is the classic real-time strategy games fans have been waiting for." The idea being CnC/Warcraft era RTS's (as those are the classics). It's not, it's much closer to Empire at War, which is a GOOD game, but a decade past the classic RTS's & a different play style. That's my biggest disappointment I have so far is it's not close enough to those classics.

Don't care about achievements though.
