Megabyte: 1) Yes, yes it is censorship. That's the whole point here. It's censorship on behest of an outside party.
2 and 3) It still shows no effort on the devs to only censor for those who want it. It shows THIS store we are arguing on is prebuilt so people have the option... and you can hack it into steam. While I hardly concider it a good solution if you basically have to literally modify the platform files to do it, I do commend the gamers getting around it in any way they can.
Demitrix2k: Might aswell go be upset about Ion Maiden's decision to sue them too then if outside censorship bothers you, ultimately its up to the publishers and developers, and they have opted for removing some gay jokes in the game to avoid further shitstorm, a true loss for freedom of expression and a monumental victory for censorship.
First, it's IRON Maiden who sued, and actually yeah I was. It was a stupid lawsuit with no valid reason behind it. Iron Maiden lost a LOT of respect that day. I dont hold it against a studio avoiding court (and a potentially deveestating to the studio payout), however. That is basically survival, self preservation in the business world.... and yet another reason to hate lawyers.
But here's the thing... ANY victory for censorship is a bad thing for the rest of us... I dont care big or small. BOTH were bad news... period.
