Seems to be quite a bit of drama on Steam, anyone care to fill me in on what's going on here?

low rated
Devs are donating 10,000 $ to child mutilation and brainwashing their staff for re-education.

Look up the IGN article called " Ion Fury devs are donating 10,000 after backlash over transphobic comments"
since i can't post link here.

They have been banning and shutting down discussions about it on their discord and steam forums. So far they haven't denied it at all and are sitting this one out pretending this will blow over quietly.

Here's a rundown without the inflammatory language.

Basically some slurs were found in the game that didn't reflect the rest of Voidpoint, they're being removed, and anti-trans people are up in arms.

Correction... basically they promised to change a product released because people who dont buy games in general got upset. They have since "said it's only changing a couple of things and it's not really censorship" despite their actions being the defenition of censorship and any way they can they are trying to forcibly shut people up from talking about it, basically fanning the flames and showing how they feel about their audience.
Basically some crude jokes were found in the game that some thin skinned people disliked, they're being removed, and mostly people who dislike censorship are up in arms.
Fixed that to be more neutral.
I believe the drama is over now. Devs decided not to take the soap bottle out, but will remove the out-of-bounds text which nobody will ever see anyway without noclipping. Everyones giving the game good ratings now and buying it again.

And that is good and shows many can be reasonable. Some are still saying they won't buy, though, and shifting the goalposts as to why they won't buy(or are the originally offended just LARPing as others).

Also steam forums(game devs are staff there) are trying to act like it never happened....not even one containment thread to talk about all this is allowed.

I know. The forum mods keep deleting any thread about it, even if they don't break any rules. We have a lot more freedom over here on gog thats for sure. But that may be because those devs/mods don't care about gog lol.

One of the BIGGEST mistakes(imo) that the steam forums make is to allow devs and game makers to mod the forums for their games on steam. Too much bias can and does creep in to their modding.
