Hey guys,

unfortunately I managed to break my game completely - by successfully corrupting my savegames of the last 5 days, which were the quick and autosave files. Fuck.That. Shit. Seroiusly. Got a runtime error, game crashed, savegams corrupt.

Anyone can tell me where the files are located? Maybe I can fumble something there....

Good luck.

A tips in the future: back up the saves. ;)
Ouch. :(

I like to throw in a manual save now and again (that I don't reuse) just to be safe. If for no other reason that I sometimes stumble into an npc, situation, or boss that I don't want to deal with and there's not always an autosave or dialog save to rely on.

My game has only crashed on me a couple times because I usually get forewarning that something is amiss. Usually it's red blocks over items in my inventory or the toolbar. When this happens I usually save to a new save file and restart the game. So far I haven't lost any progress.

Unlike the big AAA sandbox RPG's that have save games that are many megabytes in size this game's saves are in the hundreds of kilobytes range. I have 111 saves now and it's taking less than 70 meg. That's pocket change these days. No reason not to save often.

While that is not my tacics because of backups I agree, there's never a reason to not save often and I just lose part interest in games when they lack a save feature (I know, I have save compulsion but it's founded on good reason).
Yeah, the only time my saving compulsion has back fired on me is when I realize I have multiple gigabytes of saved games and I've almost filled a partition... lol.

Haha, ouch. Well, keep a look after every game session of that particlar game to check that you don't have too many.

I can sympathise. I somehow managed to corrupt ALL my savefiles (auto and manual), and all I did was just try to quicksave.

Tried deleting via Control Panel and the uninstall app itself, then reinstalling the game. Tried to single out which save-file could be causing the problem. Hell, the corrupt file/s was even preventing me from starting a newgame!

So many hours lost. Fuck this.
