Hello. My Paladin has done every quest in Act II and is ready to fetch the dirty bishop from the dungeons in Glatzburg church.

The trouble is, I'm constantly getting one-shot by the enemy Inquisitors (the priests I can sort of handle) because of my limited Intelligence / Magic Resistance, I imagine.

I've already got all spellbooks, including the Infernal Magic one, but because of my class I don't have access to all spells.

I've given up bringing followers because they keep dying even faster than I do.

Any tips would be very welcome!

Your companions are set to auto-quaff-potions right? Also, I find the tactic of "run away/through the enemies and don't fight them just get to where you're going" to be a good tactic in this game.
Maybe you could use a Divine Magic spell called Solid Faith which is a Novice-level spell. According to the description in the Book of Magic, it temporarily adds bonuses to the physical and magical resistances. And there is also the Potion of Magic Resistance which you might be able to obtain from merchants.
Thanks to both of you for the advice.

@drealmer7: My companions are set to auto-drink the potions, however their AI apparently doesn't allow them to gulp them down all the time, which is what I have to do with certain creatures :P

@Kovi: Yes, I do use Solid Faith on myself and companions. This delays our death by about 1 second at most, versus the Inquisitors :)

I had forgotten about those Magic Resistance potions. Perhaps those and the Speed potions can get me far enough to arrest the bastard. Provided it's a dialogue option and he doesn't turn me into stone or something...

That and Speed potions to get the hell away. Yeah...

Any fellow Paladins with any more tips?
How about trying to use some magic seals against those Inquisitors? Maybe they could hurt or slow them down enough for you and your companions to finish them before they kill you.
Ok, I've figured out a way to stay alive that has worked so far. 5 or 6 Inquisitors dead, and I'm still kickin'.

1. Went through my gear and wore whatever increased Magic Resistance or Intelligence, even if it caused less damage or reduced Armor Class. Against spellcasters with low physical resistance, that doesn't matter much anyway.

2. Used Solid Faith all the time. I was already doing this, but whatever :P

3. VAMPIRISM (Infernal Magic)! It drains some of their hitpoints into myself and keeps me alive long enough until they RUN OUT OF MANA! After that, they're easy pickings :D

Thanks to both of you for the tips. Now, to see if this is enough to defeat Truncquilius.

EDIT: I made it. Turns out the last level of the dungeon had the easiest enemies (except Truncquilius).
Spellcasters are a major pain for a fighter, but everything else pretty much melts from touching my sword at this point. I'm going through Alvaron Citadel with no problems (keeps fingers crossed) :D

Great, I'm glad to hear you made it through. This is what I like on Inquisitor, if you take your time and think it through you will ultimately find a way to solve a seemingly impassable situation.
