Finally beat chapter 10 thanks to the patch. No more crashing issue so far.

All right!
Edit: Fun and Games. When I get on the bike to exit, the level just restarts at the battle area and the victory music keeps playing. Also I got an error about how the game couldn't "draw" something. Going back in to see if this happens again.
Edit 2: Yes it does. I press the skip button though, so i "sigh" need to do it a 3rd time and let the animation play. The error that shows is either about a nonexistent song or sprite. I post my result of the 3rd time momentarily.
Edit 3: Game works fine if you let the guy get on the bike and leave, breaks if you try to skip it. Is this the case for any other levels and is anyone else having this problem? Also, how does the patch work? Does it just know where to go? Maybe I just downloaded it wrong...

Easiest way to check is to go to Options and Advanced. If you don't see 'advanced' there, then you don't have the patch.

ftwlit: wasn't it made in gamemaker? The engine is so insanely buggy I'm not really very surprised at how badly the game performs.
Yes it was, but the engine itself is very reliable if you know what you're doing. All issues I found in Hotline Miami were definitely results of sloppy programming and testing by the developers. The fact alone that the ability to deactivate surfaces was only added in the latest patch makes me facepalm (it's a well known fact that many chipsets are unable to use those).

Yup. It's patched. The setting don't fix the problem either... Not a HUGE deal, but still kind of annoying. Oh well, at least the developers got some free bug testing! What does "clear blood" do, though?

The patch "knows" where the main game is installed, you can't really make a mistake with this.

Haven't run into that particular issue myself, though. Didn't even know that you can skip these animations. If you have other issues with freezing and stuff you should try turning off "surfaces" in the advanced options. They seem to cause a lot of trouble.

Dang, ninja'd. <.<

Clear blood just seems to remove any transparency of the blood textures. So basically graphics will be slightly uglier but you may get a performance boost.
