Is there gonna be a way to make the multiplayer work? I really want to play this classic with my friends like in the old days but I dont see any multiplayer support, the original version had multiplayer.

I am interested it having multiplayer too. It was really fun with friends.
Yeah that would be awesome!!
Me and my friend managed to create a lobby and start the game! But it crashes instantaly after.
We had to download the "original" CD files which contain HEXNET.EXE.

Please keep me updated if you find a way to start the game in multiplayer :)
Thanks Seb. This works. Just had to copy them over the main game folder and chose to NOT overwrite existing files (just in case).
GOG should include these as multiplayer was a big part of why the game was so nice to play.

To play in multiplayer in a LAN, all players must run the NET executable and choose LAN.
When prompted to type a name, one of the players must click the create button to act as a server and run the lobby while the others click join once the lobby is created.

To play over internet, the easiest method i know of is to use a tool like hamachi which is easy to setup :

You're welcome.
Can you tell me a little more about your experience? Did you manage to actually play with multiplayer?
We did what you said about creating the lobby, as you can see in the screenshot I shared, but as I said earlier, when we try to launch the game itself, it crashes instantly.
