I don't like to use the keyboard the whole time I play a dating sim or RPG, so usually I use an XBox controller with JoyToKey to navigate the menus and hit Enter/Space/Escape. But Hatoful Boyfriend doesn't accept the controller input, and in the startup configuration screen "input" tab there is nothing listed and no way to add an entry. I'm in Windows 10.
I've tried every combination of which program to start first, whether to start with the controller plugged in or do it after program start, restarting the computer...
Has anybody else tried to use an alternate input method for this game? Any ideas for troubleshooting?
