OMFG

Thank you!

That thread was the answer!

But not exactly what you think!

" " Its a shame that the gothic_mod doesnt support cheats, guess i have to finish the game in crappy fps ;( "

Get past the gate, save and quit, then go back to playing with the FPS patch as before. :) "

Since I can't do cheats with GothicMod.exe, I loaded up Gothic_backup.exe and as a good scientist, tried the puzzle again... guess what?
The PATCH IS AT FAULT. I loaded up the Gothic_backup.exe and it WORKED

THE CINEMATIC PLAYED!!! THE GATE OPENED!!!

This isn't a bug in the game, this is a bug in GothicMod.exe, I am willing to bet it's the fault of GothicFps.exe patch.

I wonder all those times when the game got stuck before when someone was supposed to talk to me, and the camera would 'lock on' to them as they were stuck behind a wall, and I had to reload, was that due to the fps patch as well?

I would really appreciate if this was updated in the sticky, since I'm not the first one to experience this, I certainly won't be the last!
i just tested it more thoroughly, the fps patch isn't at fault, the player kit is!

GothicMod.exe unpatched with fps patch, same problem. regular gothic.exe, no problem scripted sequence plays!!

I'll have a look at it. But I cannot promise you a solution (besides switching the binaries).
