Shut down gog galaxy

Then run it as administrator

It works for me now
Not for me.
Tried running as Admin and the update still fails.
As always it tells me 'update failed, try downloading here' with a link to the downloads page.
I can only assume it works for some people.

And after browsing multiple threads on the topic with never an answer from anyone official, I just use it now to browse what I have.
Which is why I never as a game launcher.
Make sure you add Galaxy to the whitelist on any security software you have, including the firewall. Sometimes security software likes to block legitimate programs.

I found another thread in which some guy stated to go to the properties of the gog galaxy application and removing any compatibility settings you might have. Apparently gog galaxy has windows xp compatibility settings on. It might be worth a look

I checked this and in the Properties folder on the Compatibility tab, the options for Compatibility mode stop at Windows 8. There is no mode available for after that version of Windows. Also the checkbox is unchecked by default, so I'm not sure how this could be causing the issue?
Has anyone actually found a real solution to this problem yet?

Updates to Gog Galaxy just keep failing and failing. A link is provided to an out-of-date offline installer which can be downloaded. But that doesn't work because it is an older version of Gog Galaxy.

Launching as Administrator makes no difference at all.

Is there anywhere to download the latest version of Gog Galaxy online for manual installation?
