Thought this might help someone if I mention it, as I never found this solution on the forums. I will simply post the original contents of my support ticket listing the problem for convenience...
"I upgraded from a Samsung 950 Pro SSD to a Samsung 970 Evo Plus SSD. Galaxy worked great on the 950 Pro. After updating my Windows 10 completely, I've installed Galaxy 2.0 and it has been launching just fine, however, it has been locked onto the "Log in to GoG Galaxy" that shows immediately after launch. The application has a completely black screen with a small white "X" in the top right hand corner and a grey, rotating loading circle in the centre. I have been waiting for hours for it present a screen to enter my login details but it proceeds no further. I have uninstalled, deleted the GoG Galaxy directories, re-downloaded and re-installed the client 3 times and I have also tried multiple restarts and even tried to tinker with compatibility settings and running in administrator. I have an image of the application to show you what I am seeing. The application is responsive and can be closed by the "X" in the corner after a 5 - 10 second delay. The grey circle spins freely as though the application is working as intended. As a point of interest, my computer boots without internet and I can see white writing that says "Click below to sign into Galaxy" but in different words. I can't see a button to click, but if I mouse over I can find something that resembles a button by seeing my mouse cursor change slightly. If I click this spot, it proceeds to the screen I get stuck on."
The solution for my problem was unexpected. While waiting for my support ticket to be processed, I decided to download a game from the GOG website as a standalone game. Out of curiosity, I clicked the option to install into Galaxy. To my surprise it fixed everything, it loaded up Galaxy right to the installation window. Even after multiple system restarts, Galaxy loads up without being locked onto the login screen.
Hopefully this helps one other poor soul out there. Cheers fellas!
(Edit: Two screenshots are included, one of the problem and one of the solution, hope this helps for clarity).
