I still couldn't get it to update despite the issue preventing updates being fixed according to the change log. The installer from the Galaxy website also fails. After some searching I found this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5Cfp19zLso) of a post on shadow.tech that includes a link attributed to French mod Nelfym. In any case the link, tu-vas.la/gog points to a download for the 2.0.60 client that works (at least for me). It just redirects to https://cdn.gog.com/open/galaxy/client/2.0.60.2/setup_galaxy_2.0.60.2.exe for those concerned about following it.

dstoops: I have the 2.0.59.41 installed and the updater keeps giving message about 2.0.58 update.......

MaXMC: Killing the GOG Process right after the Update has closed GOG made it work for me.
I think they are unable to shutdown their own process and the upgrade fails.
This worked for me as well.

Perfect, that was the way to go, I landed on 2.0.60.2 ... thanks for figuring that one out!
I have been trying to update as many here have mentioned, only it says I have version 2.0.60 yet still wants me to update, which fails, and the trick of deleting the process still does not seem to help me any.

On February 9th, I did a uninstall and reinstall of the client, which fixed it until today's update. And while that works, you have to uninstall then reinstall and then get all your games back which is an extra step several steps and time. It'd be nice if we can get an update file we could download instead of the generic launcher that fails because you have a "new version" installed. Let me download the latest version and install that manually.
I have been having this same problem for quite awhile now (since I got my new pc) so I assumed it was a win 11 thing. I quickly went through all the posts and have all ready tried most of those things. Might read through them a bit slower tomorow with my coffee.

Im guessing dont worry about updating? havent tried downloading any new games but all my old ones seem to work. So im guessing I dont need to update anyways

It's worked for me too. Thanks.

Yep I'm having the same issue too. It did manage to update to 2.0.58 somehow from 2.0.57.14 (not sure how I did not see it happen I just noticed my version changed.) but now I have the same problem with updating to 2.0.60. Closing GOG client when it closes to update doesn't seem to help either far as I can tell.

that worked! thank you!
Downloading the 2.60 someone linked worked to update the client. Now to see if the next auto update fails or if they've indeed fixed the issue...
Same problem here ....
Still doing it.

And it's annoying.
2.0.60 changelog:

* Removed "Report a bug" option to streamline the issue reporting flow
* Fixed issues preventing GOG GALAXY from updating

HAHAHAHAHAHA

So my GOG Galaxy won't update, and even in 2.0.58.4 I can't report it as a bug, because the window pops up but does nothing. I guess an inability to report bugs "streamlines the reporting flow" - by eliminating it.
fix this fkng issue, GOG!
