Gobac: COMODO Firewall 10 was my problem.
After I disabled him, GOG Galaxy connected to all services (Steam, Epic, PSN, Uplay, Origin).
Thank you! This was my issue and it fixed everything. Comodo is stupid like that because it doesn't inform you its blocked anything.
Guys, does this problem have a solution now?
My steam account connection is still offline. I have re-installed the plug-in many times and I do not have any firewall except windows defender. Or we just have to wait for a update?

Just for test try disabling defender and see if that helps.

I try with disabling defender, nothing to change.
I cannot do the steam connection in gog galaxy 2
Your Steam Profile Privacy must be public. If you get an 'offline' status it is because your profile and games are private. The plugin cannot access your game info.

I'm having the same issue, my steam profile is public.

I had the same issue. I managed to solve it by
- starting steam
- click on your steam name
- click on "view my profile"
- click on "Edit Profile"
- click on "My Privacy Settings"
- set "My Profile" on public
- set "Game Details" on public
- click on "My Profile", scroll down and click on "Save changes"

After that GOG Galaxy 2.0 connected to steam.

I did exactly as you told but it still shows "offline"
Nope, guys, this particular bug has NOTHING to do with your Steam privacy settings. It's a known bug the developers are still working on and there just hasn't yet been a bugfix yet that works for everyone. My Galaxy started connecting to Steam some weeks after I reported the bug on mantis and I'd recommend doing this to everyone who also experiences this issue, so they can look at your account directly and perhaps fix it.

I followed these instructions to the letter and it finally worked. Thank you ever so much!

Thank you so much. It works, finally!
Is there a way that this could work with your profile public, but your games private, like a "friend" account people could add for the plugin?

I don't mind a public profile, but I buy Humble Bundles, and that's put some... questioable content in my library that I'd rather not advertize :)

Was hoping the new update would solve this steam plugin crash thats been ongoing for over a month. Steams plugin still crashing after about 40 seconds. All other api plugins are fine. Epic, Uplay, Origin, ect
