As in the title, a button that'll launch a (semi) random game and may ask me to install it first.

Seeing how I have 1200+ games on Galaxy, this is something that could be useful from time to time, when one wants to game but don't know what to play, the system could propose them a game to try or play again...
+1 on this. I have way too many games and having a random launch, or a shuffle playlist option, would be awesome.
i’d rather have it just open a random game page in galaxy and i could either install and play it or ask for another random game until i find one i want to play. it should also be able to skip certain tags — i don’t want it to suggest games i’ve already completed or decided i’m not going to play.
I agree, a random button that uses the active list as a basis with filters (I have made a backlog list with games I have not played or finished yet), and shows us a random game, we then decide what we want to do, install it, play it, or press random again.

Yeah. It's been suggested few times. I think it would be a cool idea. We'll definitely look into adding it to our roadmap. (but it's not planned atm - sorry)

There's no hurry. XP
Just adding a bump to say I think this would be cool too. I'm in the same boat as Zoid with 1.7k games linked across 8 platforms.

The XBOX PC Game Pass actually does this, you pull up the new xbox app in windows and click a little d20 that randomly displays a game that's available for you to play from the pass. I love it.

Edit: Typo

Wanted to just voice my support as well, over 3k games and I get paralyzed by trying to decide. I was thinking how this would be a cool feature to use tonight as I tried to decide what to play happened to come across this post so +1.

Not silly, a few other library apps out there do this and it's cool. It helps cut down the "what do I play now" for those of us with huge libraries.
I also like the idea, but instead of one, I would like to see four or five suggestions (maybe from different genres)
It could also may be limited to a specific list, like I have a "backlog" list, I could ask Galaxy to randomly launch a game from that list.

When I want to play a random game I go to this website:
www.randomgames.fun

It says it has more than 1000 games.
No installation needed!
I just click on find game and I can start playing.

Not launch it though but open its page so I can decide what to do.
Yes. I would love this feature.
Currently using CLZ Game Collector (they have ctrl + R feature that just pops up a random game from any chosen list), but to have it on GOG would be so much more convenient. Huge feature for me.
I created a windows batch script that will do this, and can be bundled into an EXE. Hosted on Github Gist gist[dot]github[dot]com/maxwellainatchi/794d22c2c24f98d5dc8e6abc7ccc8a92 (it won't let me post links because I haven't posted here before). I didn't provide the exe itself because of security concerns, but I provided instructions on the gist. If there's interest, I can try to do the same for Mac or Linux
