Big ugh. There should be a more intuitive way of browsing projects. As it is, the best way to get to know of a project is to just hope word of mouth gets around.

Yep. It's an exposure game. If the kickstarter staff doesn't put you on the home page or Redditers don't vote you up, it's tough. Trust me ;)

It's the same problem with book publishing. I wrote an urban fantasy and getting people to find it on Amazon is a nightmare...

High Score - 3rd Edition: A Game History Book
A new edition of "The Illustrated History of Electronic Games", updated to include the last decade or so.

The book alone is darn impressive, but the $250-300 pledge rewards should catch your eye - have lunch with one of several industry veterans. There's John Romero, Steve Meretzky, Lorne Lanning, Will Wright, Sid Meier, Peter Molyneux and many others.

Sounds interesting but for those of us on a budget seems weird eBook at $40 is higher value than hardcopy at $30 (which btw is sold out....).Sounds like a decent book though :)

I remember choosing the video games category and then scrolling through the list of all available projects, picking some by random and looking at them. Not a very convenient way.

The search system of Kickstarter is underveloped. You cannot even combine a category and a featured property like finding all games projects that end soon or are recently launched.

And the cities selection is useless.

Yep. I found about it by accident too. Was just scrolling through it this afternoon. Most of the games are either iOS games or just extremely unprofessional looking projects.

Obviously influenced by Minecraft, but this game called Guncraft really looks like a lot of fun.

-edit- But I'm loathe to donate when I look at how their reward tiers are managed.

if they put it on Kickstarter, I'd get it in a heartbeat IF:

- they drop the FMV and replace it with stills or decent 3D renders - Chris has aged too much and it would cost too much to do it properly

- they use the old 3D method of walking around

- they keep the great setting

I loved UAKM and Pandora Directive and even replaying them, it shows the games haven't really aged.
