Master of Orion 1+2, Rollercoaster Tycoon series, Blood 1&2, and other timeless Atari classics 60% off!

There's a few companies out there that contributed as much to the evolution of computer games as Atari did. In the 8-bit era their games and hardware helped to define the course for electronic entertainment, and gave us one of the first successful home consoles dedicated to gaming. In time, the brand went through many changes, as it adapted new roles in the ever-changing landscape of the games industry. In whatever form--it always existed, and soldiered on, whatever the odds. as one of the few constants. Today, we want to celebrate this pioneering label. Here's our [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/atari_weekend_promo_220313]Atari! Atari Promo!

It's just amazing to see how many excellent titles that we offer you comes from Atari! Such classics as Master of Orion 1+2, and Master of Magic, one of the most memorable strategy games of all times, or Star Control 1+2, a space opera that kept us playing for weeks--that's in the oldies department. There's also and [url=http://www.gog.com/gamecard/blood_2_the_chosen_expansion]Blood 2: The Chosen, two gore-fest games that put many horror shooters to shame up to this day. All those, and many, many more games are available 60% off this weekend. Check the Atari! Atari promo page to see the whole list. The promo lasts until Tuesday, March 26, at 5:59AM GMT.

JudasIscariot: I think someone was merely lamenting the death of the Atari of old :(
avatar
Austrobogulator: Did they not file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy (the same thing as THQ)?
I thought that was just the French HQ? Isn't the US department still alive and kicking?

Phaidox: Guys/gals... Is AitD: The New Nightmare worth purchasing? The reviews are... mixed, to say the least.
I played it in PS1 in the past and I'd say that 72% of the game is good so it's worth it. It's better than that ridiculous thing which is AITD 5. Most of the game has lot of the same feeling than originals and it has a cool flashlight. =)

I thought the us arm is kicking the bucket not the french
I heard on the grapevine that Atari was declaring bankruptcy...
sweet, got me a couple of titles I've been holding out on, such as Outcast, Darklands, Sid Meier's Colonization, and the Alone in the Dark-trilogy.

And speaking of Atari, any chance for Battlezone on GOG, especially the "Battlezone:Gold"-package that was released but is nowadays impossible to get hold of. Here's hoping :)

JMich: Guess on next week, KKnD 2.
Is my guess too.

Thinking to get the digital backups of the Rollecoaster Tycoon games. What is the difficulty of the Master of Orion and Master of Magic games?
Alright, I'm going to change my comment, because I'm apparently misinformed.

I would say Master of Magic is easier than MOO, although MOO is easier to get started/learn the game. BUT, that is just my own limited experience with both.
Nice promo, finally Total Annihilation: Commander Pack, Blood 1,2 & Outcast in my possession :)

In my experience Master of Orion 1+2 are easy to start but difficult to master, because they are quite comlpex. But they are very rewarding when you do master them.
YEAH BABY!

Okay I need some advice on a few of these.

1) I've been itching to grab one of the 'Roller Coaster' games but I'm not good at sims AND away from that I'm curious which of the three people would call the better.

2) I've asked about Cooper's Revenge before and no one helped me out. Is it that bad? :p FYI I thought D1 was fun but had it's holes and the special move setup was a HUGE pain.

3) KKND. Never heard of it. :( I love most RTS but I hated T.A. and I saw that getting mentioned in the reviews. If it's closer to C&C I'm game. If it's closer to T.A. I'd pass.

4, and Final) Is Powerslide just "another racing game". It looks like it might get dull fast.

If anyone wants my take, I've played IDWar2, Desp 1, Blood, Outcast, and T.A. untill my fingers bled and would be happy to offer up recommendations.
@trusteft and @Lifthrasil, thanks for the answers. I have almost no experience with 4X, then Master of Magic is better for novices?

1) I prefer the first one, the second not improved too much. Look for the third if you prefers 3D graphics
2) I consider worse than the first one
3) I guess is more C&C, but is a difficult game

excellent promo.only have two from the list but recognize most of the games.time to pickup backups of iw1 and 2:).thanks Gog!
Not many companies can have classics on both PC and consoles. This doesn't include ports!
I played Desp 1 when I was younger and only remembered it now, the gaming world is a small(ish) world.
