Heroes of Might and Magic 3, Zeus, Pharaoh, Age of Wonders, and other strategies 50% off!

We know that you like to be in charge. We know that you like that feeling of power and the constant pressure of one life-and-death decision after another. Whether you are in the battlefield, commanding your troops, in a warlord's tent deciding the life and death of your subjects, or in a city hall, placing miniature buildings on a map--you flourish. Leadership is your element. Knowing that, we prepared a [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/strategy_weekend_promo_080313]Superb Strategy Promo to cater to your tastes. Or rather: to nourish that ever-present hunger for power that you have. Let's take a look at two of the games on this weekend's offer, shall we?

Many people consider Heroes of Might and Magic 3 to be the best instalment in the greatest fantasy turn-based strategy series. The conquest of Erathia is still taking place on thousands of computers worldwide, as the game remains universally popular among strategy gamers. Billions of hours worth of collective playtime were, and still are, being put in this title, both in single-player campaigns and multi-player struggles. We offer you the Complete Edition of the game, containing the Armageddon's Blade and The Shadow of Death expansions, for only $4.99.

If you enjoy the turn-based mechanics of the HoMM series, but you would like to immerse yourself even deeper in a complex and extensive gameworld, don't miss Eador: Genesis. When we originally released this Russian masterpiece, we said that the single-player campaign can take up to 200 hours to beat. Our colleague from the support team, who knows the game by heart came asking later how did we come up with such a number. We told him, that 200 hours is the expected playtime stated by the developer. "Must have been a speedrun"--our friend commented, and we believe him (GOG.com support is known to be trustworthy, afterall). So brace yourselves--for only $2.99 you'll get more than 200 hours of playtime.

But that's only scratching the surface of our weekend promo! There are many more games to challenge your leadership skills on the Superb Strategy promo page, so go ahead and check them out now! The offer lasts until Tuesday, March 12, at 4:59AM GMT.

As usual, below you'll find a new episode of This Week on GOG, a short video guide to recent events, promos, and other happenings on the site. By the way, if you haven't already, you might want to follow the GOG.com channel on Youtube, so you won't miss our shows, specials, and exclusive trailers.
Great promo, but don't have much money right now, will wait for Christmas. :D

Nirth: I'm curious, there's a new revision of Eador being released soon. Will it arrive here or "being upgraded" or offered as a separate download in case you own this Eador?

JMich: A new game actually. So we'll probably have the option to buy either one, and hopefully a bundle option as well.
Ah, okay. Then I'll wait for the new one.
Excellent own them all. I can go back to saving money for a new car.
There's the 50% for Eador I'd been waiting for :3
I'll probably be picking up the new version when it hits Steam as well.

And anyone who doesn't own King of Dragon Pass, buy it. This is the one game that I actually bothered to send an email to the developer whether they'd release a digital version on GOG or elsewhere, simply because I felt the game deserved more attention. (sadly IOS was the only thing in the works at the time xD)
Eador for 2.99? Wow, the best games are the cheapest, weird world!

King of Dragon Pass looks very interesting, too.
It's either HoMM3 or Stronghold...Choices, chocies ...
Heroes of Might and Magic 3 is a great game. The best turn-based strategy game ever (better than Civilization, Disciples and Age of Wonders series). It’s 2D graphics are still enjoyable today. I played it so much that I know by heart all creatures stats. I love Vampire Lords, I love Grand Elves, I love Dread Knights, I love Mighy Gorgons..I love this game.
I registered GOG one year ago just for the chance to have this game!

If you have the privilege to own it already don’t forget to play some excelent maps (scenarios) like those made by Corribus: Sander's Folly, Traemask I and II. They are all like a short novel with engrossing stories.
Heroes 3 is awesome alright, I have played it for years, but I have decided now that with Eador finally a game has come out that is just a little bit better. Also I think Civ 4 BTS is on par with Heroes 3. Hmm but what about Imperialism and Orion 2...just play them all.
Very nice promo GOG.
Too many games in there that I want. I would have appreciated a further discount for buying them all as a pack. Picking just a couple is painful.
O_O

Next weeks game "restless souls" - pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease be Scapeghost

...and then let the flood-gates of Level9 goodness overflow into the GOG kingdom.

Please please please.

:)
I'm going to pass on this one but I want to see the bill for Jolt and Hot Pockets that arrives for whoever gets this bundle! :P
Sigh, I am still waiting for Battle Realms. Coudl you finally put it in promo?

It will be mostly improved remake of this one, but it will be separate game.

To all interested in Eador. It indeed is good game, as people mentioned here already but it is also very slow game and sometimes quite tedious. Single maps last there many hours and often you have to repeat same thing over and over and over again. It also often forces you the same cheesy tactics (like certain spells), because it is hard. Plus you can't load the game (unless you back up the save folder) and there are maps you must win, otherwise you lose whole campaign and potentially tens of hours. These maps should be easier than others but for me it was unwinanble and I had to accept the defeat because I chose bad rewards in the past.
I really like the concept of gradually gaining new buildings, units and spells from conquered shards of your choice (I like slow progress sometimes, so I purposely picked less important buildings), but the game offers no warning, that you will get attacked (or that there is time limit to whole campaign) until it happens and I had no chance to survive it with my choice and it came like big unpleasant surprise.
So bear this in mind and be careful with Eador.
I've been a diehard fan of AoW 1 but never played Shadow Magic or Wizard's Throne. Apparantly nobody seems to care about Wizard's throne. Shadow magic is said to be the third installment/sequil but then I hear that Shadow Magic is a mod on Wizard's Throne? I'm thinking of getting one of the two.

Agreed, I've whiled away many an hour on this game. definitely worth picking up for those on the fence...especially at this price :D
