I recently received a Steam key for Pirates of Black Cove and wish to trade it for a GOG copy of The Witcher 1 (going to gift to a friend).

If you're interested, PM me. I reserve the right to not trade if I don't know you or believe you're trying to screw me over.

Cheers.

Edit: TRADE COMPLETED

OK, I am not interested in this trade but can someone please explain to me how do people out there come across so many Steam keys? The only Steam keys I've ever found were on manuals of games I've bought on retail.

`
I've been wondering the same. I'm not accusing anyone here, don't get me wrong. But I'm curious about the matter :)

No Offense to the OP but I have to wonder if people are using the Steam Key Generator that a friend tried to get me to use
I'd be interested if it's from a reputable source.
I remember coming across a site that sold those dirt cheap....I am not interested in those much since I only use steam as a last resort. Will let you know if I have a record of it or something.

I don't know about others and can't speak for them, but I won this from a contest. I was hoping it would be a GamersGate copy, but it was a Steam key instead.

If you're referring to the key I mentioned, yeah, it is. You'll just have to take my word for that.

Edit:

My apologies, I shouldn't have been so snappy (I'm going to blame it on being up too early). Here is some additional info to go off of:

Fair enough, I didn't say you stole it. ;-)

It's just that I've seen so many Steam codes flying around the forum and people having at least 5 different ones written down somewhere and remembering them at all sorts of times (for giveaways or competitions).

Dunno. I'd guess it's probably easy to get Steam keys due to promotions, contests (Twitter, Facebook), etc. I see lots of Steam keys given out on Twitter and I have to assume Facebook is similar.

Then there is probably also the chance that someone out there is looking to screw others over and has some sort of key gen. Not sure. Hopefully they would get reported and blacklisted for doing so.
