low rated
(First off, I know I have a thread for this already, but seeing as how it was getting too big and cluttered I decided to make a new one......also someone seemed to be focused on keeping it hidden with low ratings & cause me no end on frustration thus I make this new one).

Feel free to talk about whatever, to a reasonable extent that is.....and also enjoy the brand new Latte/Cafe Mocha Bar off to the right & set conveniently next to the wraparound couch.

Maybe your last thread was buried for a reason? Just saying.
Here we go again.

Delixe: Maybe your last thread was buried for a reason? Just saying.
Until Mr. Gog grants unto us a forum of wayward rambling, I do think that we need to tolerate a certain amount of this, and right now I hardly think the two or so random threads on the front page is really unreasonable.

Burying a thread because you dislike the poster isn't a valid reason, sorry.

Darling_Jimmy: Here we go again.
What? Are you talking about a week ago? No, this won't turn into that. I am content to stay in here all the time.....when i'm not replying to other threads that is.

Sorry to disappoint but I have never rated you down. Hell I never rated anyone. What I am saying is perhaps your last threads were rather rubbish? We would all love to bump our own threads, I know I made a few myself that died but maybe people just aren't interested?

I was speaking in general...i'm sorry if it seemed I meant you personally.

Also downrating is supposed to be used to hide offensive/rule breaking/nasty posts and threads....

Anyways, how are you doing tonight?

So, if Barbie is a bad influence, then what is this?
I had a chuckle on how the kid next door has obviously never seen a typewriter before. We put a vintage 80's broken typewriter to the curb and the kid asks "Are you throwing this away?" Yep. It's broken I replied. "I know what's wrong with it" he replies. "It's missing a screen".

They call that "art" these days, part of the modern zeitgeist. Hopefully people will stop thinking 'freedom of expression = art' one day. What's funny is all the rant about porn objectifying women. Well, let's call porn art, and be done with it. ;)

On another note, i've returned to XCOM again, this time with something called "Ufo Extender", damn fine piece of software, fixes a lot of the issues i had with the game, sadly, does not 'fix' the mind control design.
There is an actual artistic statement there: The woman is tiny, the breasts are ridiculously huge; prob something along the lines of representing the negative aspects of the objectification of women, seeing the breasts instead of the woman, etc. And that's just an immediate impression, without investigating the artist or the piece.

I took a philosophy of art course in university where the definition of art was a common thread of discussion.

During the course, the cynical side of me thought it wouldn't be hard to conclude that art doesn't actually exist. All discourse trying to define art is merely trolls trolling trolls.

...

That said, is another one of these threads really necessary GameRager?

Personally, I liked the juxtapositioning of the elementary school children next to those gigantic breasts.

Me, too. ;-)

From the article:

A kindergarten teacher, who brought her class to visit the park, says it shocked some of them to tears.
If that's true (rather than propaganda), that culture must be sexually repressed to an extreme... unless they were tears of joy, of course. :-P

I sorta see the logic behind threads such as this... but isn't the forum this is posted in "General Discussion" as it is, and thus by definition there is NO "Off Topic" threads?
