Anyone pick it up today? I played the trial and found it interesting, wondered what people who committed and bought it think about it.

Actually it's kind of DayZ/WarZ with a single player story, team and survival management. Nothing special on XBOX360 but since it's Cry Engine 3 it will be better on PC.

Does anyone know yet when they plan on launching on the pc? Will it require games for windows live?

It is getting a PC port at some point, but no date has been finalized yet.

I've read that the game is great but can have some pretty bad screen tearing and low frame rate issues at times. Has anyone here noticed that while playing it?

I tried the trial, and the controls could at times be imprecise. And the framerate did dip a few times.

It's on Steam now as early access as they still have some things to sort out.
So, time to vote for it in the wishlist :)

Toying with getting this now its available for early access. id rather it wasnt on steam though and im not 100% sure that my bank manager will be happy.

I don't think i've logged into steam and bought something that fast before. I had no idea it was on early access already until i noticed this thread. :D

let me know how it is, seriously considering it, it looks like the type of game a zombie survival should be.

It's a great game. The major flaw in it is the lack of multiplayer, though. The game almost screams co-op..

The port is a bit iffy at the moment, but it works somewhat fine. FPS is inconsistent, for me at least. Graphically it looks good, the controller works fine and the atmosphere is there. You can even "build" your bases, which is a huge plus. And a sandbox mode is coming too.

I'd say give it a go.

I saw my friend play this game on the bawks and I thought that I would love it. It is not bad. It is fun, but it has not really captivated me yet. It is probably because it really is an alpha. It is meant to be played with the controller, which I do not have (KB+M is work in progress). The colours are a little off, the graphics are admittedly from 2008 (not that I care), but the thing that kills it for me right now is the lack of mouse look. In a game such as this one you really need free look, and unfortunately the mouse functions rather poorly right now, more as a bolt-on for running straight ahead. I am really stoked about this game and it seems that the developers are working hard to deliver this game on the PC to an acceptable standard, but the current alpha does definitely fall (a little) short of that.

I'm having a lot of fun with it and current version works fairly well aside from some weird gamma and graphical glitches, i'd recommend getting it now if you have a 360 controller to use. As Knee said the port is still a bit flaky, but I haven't encoutered anything they didn't mention as being a known problem in the 2 - 3 hours I played.

The FPS is really f'd up if you max out the graphical detail, even if you are way above the recommended requirements. I found the setting just under ultra worked the best for me.

Oh yeah, and the game goes on even when you're not playing it. Do try to keep the base stocked up if you are going to not play for a while :)
